Student Centered Instructional Design

In order to continue to innovate, lead, and personalize learning for all students and as part of the work and professional learning for the Instructional Design stage, Garnet Valley has partnered with Global Online Academy (GOA), a world-renowned leader focused on reimagining learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society.

Our work with GOA will focus on intentionally and authentically designing student learning experiences, building interactions, and delivering content in all course modalities (face-to-face, online, and blended).  This partnership and teacher centered professional learning will support our ongoing work towards becoming a model Future Ready School District.

Blended learning allows educators to use time and space in new ways, helping students make connections beyond the walls of the classroom. Advances in technology have opened up vast networks of people, places, and resources that can enrich what we do in schools. Finding the right approach to blending, though, can be hard. GOA identified 18 strategies for implementing blended learning and dozens of ways to apply them. GOA's Catalyst Cards help begin the creative process of bringing new approaches to teaching and learning.
